The Welfare Benefits and Medical Support Problem

         The mamoth six page document below was an early attempt to elicit both a decent level of medical DLA appeal tribunal support from my GP and to make a start tackling the seemingly endless, but sadly all to typical "credibility problems" that infect the minds of many of our medical and social service providers with regard to the Myalgic Encephalomyelits [M.E.; often referred to as CFS, CFIDS or PVFS] illness, and the Multiple Chemical Sensitivity [MCS: often referred to as Environmental Illness (EI), Chemical Injury (CI), or Toxicant Induced Loss of Tolerance] illness. These "credibility problems" are a dire blight on the already very difficult lives of ME/MCS sufferers;  especially so when the illnesses are severe.

         Please note that in the documents presented here I have had to blank out telephone, email and house address details to avoid junk mail and nuisance events and also to preserve a modicum of privacy. I would also like to apologise here for the poor quality of the scans. This was down to both the age/condition of the document itself and also the image optimizing processes inflicted on it which were necessary for making the physical size of the scans acceptable for practical online use.

Cast Not Thy Pearls...

         In the end my big best-shot, six-page attempt - as given above - succeeded in providing neither a decent level of medical DLA appeal tribunal support from my GP, nor improve his seemingly endless "credibility problems" regarding ME/MCS.

         Sadly, there was no written response whatsoever - otherwise it would have been included for viewing in the Letters on Medical Matters webpage. Instead, all I got was a short, indignant and rather angry verbal response during his next home visit to see me.

The Long and Winding Road

         I became obvious then that I would have to settle down a bit and strap myself in for a long and bumpy ride. What wasn't so obvious though at that time was just how incredibly long and bumpy it would subsequently turn out to be...
