"Letter to GP - dated -05.01.2002"
Welcome
Things are really starting to go a bit pear shaped now. To get a flavour a what life was like around that time read "The 'Unbelievable' Crisis" sections [parts 1 and 2].
I try again to convey to my GP just how intolerable my daily and nightly situation is. I call for some kind of help and also honesty in my illness management - but, as is obvious as the story enfolds from this point onwards, I just don't either of them.
Twelve days after writing this letter I quite literally staggered into my house from another horrendous night in the garden shed to discover that my treacherous wife had deserted me like a thief in the night. At the time I was tottering on the very brink of the unendurable even with the basic and limited carer services my wife grudgingly provided [in the breif periods she wasn't feeding her Internet addiction] so the initial impact of finding myself without that basic help was like a stab in the back and the final straw. But then that was always her style.
I didn't know it at the time but I had also seen the end of my GP home visits just days before as well". Some of the last words I ever heard him say in my home were to complain "of a strong chemical smell" in my hallway.
As the old saying goes though: "That which doesn't kill us - makes us stronger".
