Dear Dr Carter
On the morning of 7.7.99 I have to attend a DLA appeal in Aberdeen to try and have the benefit which was taken from me reinstated. Consequently, it would be most helpful if you could please confirm for me, in writing, the following:
• The fact that I do in fact still suffer from M.E.
• That my M.E. still lies in the more severe end of the M.E. spectrum.
• That you have been visiting me at home every 4/6 weeks for the past 3 years (approx) due to the limitations imposed on me by my overall state of health.
• That to the best of your knowledge I have been sleeping in, and often largely living in, my garden shed for the past 15 months due to chemical sensitivity problems.
• That I have problems with back pain and presently use a Tens Unit for pain relief.
Confirmation of the specialist appointments which I currently have pending would also be helpful. The Benefits Agency are making the quite ridiculous claim that I do not qualify for any of the DLA benefits - even at the lowest of rates. Any helpful comments you may feel able to make in that regard would also be greatly appreciated.
Yours sincerely
G McHendry
