Hello
Thank you for visiting Satori-5's main ME/CFS webpage
Welcome to the M.E./CFS section of Satori-5. If you are still one of the fastly evaporating ME sceptic brigade then please fasten your saftey belts and strap in tight because you are in for a bit of a bumpy ride.
It is summer 2003 as I write this and I can hardly believe just how little progress has been made on this M.E/CFS part of the site over the past two years. This has been down to some rather incredible health challenges imposed on me by a severe Multiple Chemical Sensitivity [MCS] illness [in addition to an disabling degree of severe M.E.] on the one hand and, on the other, very poor support from a GP who apparently, despite a constant flow of quality information and in-yer-face evidence to the contrary, finds the realities of combined severe M.E./MCS just far too "unbelievable" to take seriously. See the following MCS webpages to discover for yourself something of what he has repeatedly shut his eyes to - and, in the end, finally turned his back on:
"The 'Unbelievable' Crisis: Part One"
"The 'Unbelievable' Crisis: Part Two"
"The Present Situation: Part One"
"The Present Situation: Part Two"
Between those two things I have had to set new records of personal endurance just to stay alive over these last two winters and, all the while, whenever at all possible, try to get the "unbelievabe" ME/MCS stuff online and into the public domain while I can still find the strength and the will to tell my "unbelievable" story. Unfortunately, as a result of all this, I have had to put the development of this M.E. section of Satori-5 on ice - but just until the MCS story is complete enough to hopefully interest the national press in a supportive way when I point them to it. Meantime, please bear with me...
Finally, on a purely personal note...
In conclusion I wish to reserve my final word here for all of you out there who may be going through a severe ME/CFS or MCS relapse right now; particularly so if you are unfortunate enough to have both.
Whoever you are, - and wherever you are - all my heart reaches out to you. What I dearly wish I could do right now - because I know it would mean so much - is gently whisper into the very ear of your suffering that I completely acknowledge the full depth and breadth of your terrible multi-level ordeal. That I fully affirm its overwhelming reality. That I too know from devastating experience just how hard it is for you right now in that terrible and lonely place where you are. That I too know how utterly impossible it can all seem at times. That I too know how isolated and alone and afraid you can sometimes feel when the ME/CFS storm is raging at its very worst.
Please know at those terrible times that you are not alone. I, and many, many others too, know exactly what you are going through right now. Please know also that at a deep level our common suffering connects us all. So reach out in your extremity for "all of us" and you may find some extra strength there to help you through that long and lonely night till morning comes.
My fellow sufferer
I fully acknowledge your nightmare.
I salute you and your courage.
I salute you and your endurance.
May God bless you
and see you safely through
that darkest of dark places
to the dawn...
Namaste
Yours Sincerely
Gordon D McHendry
